\nThe Scuola Normale Superiore (better known in Italy as \u201cla Normale\u201d) is a higher education institution based in Pisa and Florence. It carries out doctoral and postdoctoral training activities.
\nThe Scuola Normale Superiore participates in the ARTES 4.0 High Specialization Competence Center, with its Academic Class of Sciences (a Department of Excellence funded by MIUR).
\nIn particular, the \u201cmacro-node\u2019s\u201d scientific thematic areas concern the following enabling technologies:
\n\u2022 Big Data and Analytics: mathematics for finance, statistical data analysis, mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, high-performance scientific computing and methods for analyzing large-scale graphs and networks;
\n\u2022 Additive Manufacturing: innovative materials, functional composite materials for products and processes;
\n\u2022 Advanced Manufacturing Solutions: nanotechnology and innovative nanostructured materials, composite materials, functional coatings;
\n\u2022 Augmented Reality: development of augmented reality applications on Head Up Displays;
\n\u2022 Simulation: numerical analysis and development of efficient numerical algorithms to solve large-dimensionality problems in the physical, chemical and pharmaceutical sciences, using techniques ranging from quantum mechanics to hybrid quantum-mechanical\/classical methods or purely classical methods. <\/p>\n
