Prensilia, a spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, is a company based in Pontedera founded in 2009 and specialized in the development and marketing of robotic hands for prosthetic use (Mia Hand Prosthesis), industrial use (Mia Hand Industrial) and research (Mia Hand R&D and IH2 Azzurra). Its flagship product, Mia Hand, obtained certification in 2024 as a Class I medical device and as a near-machine collaborative gripper.
In addition to production, Prensilia offers services for developing collaborative robotic cells for the automation of industrial processes, improving their safety and efficiency, as well as design and feasibility study services for specific client needs.
Maintaining an active vocation for research, Prensilia has for over a decade participated in national and international research projects, feeding and updating its network of knowledge and collaborations with the most esteemed research bodies on a global scale.
