The University of Pisa participates in promoting ARTES 4.0’s activities and contributes to gathering requests for guidance, training and innovation services, industrial research and experimental development, and consulting from companies that approach the Competence Center.
The UniPi “macro-node’s” areas of specialization cover various aspects central to the themes of ARTES4.0 and Industry 4.0 more generally.
In its role as a “Macro-node” of ARTES 4.0, UniPi offers specific know-how in the areas of:
• Low-cost automation and optimization of production processes, traceability, logistics;
• Industrial Big Data & Analytics;
• Industrial Internet of Things (IoT);
• Innovative manufacturing (additive manufacturing, nanotechnology, CAE models);
• Collaborative robotics, coordinated robotic vehicles, manipulation and grasping, prosthetics.
The expertise within the UniPi “macro-node” covers both hardware aspects (from sensing to robotics, at various levels of quality and specialization) and more properly software aspects (from data collection and storage through to data processing techniques, with specific know-how in big data handling and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques).
