Industrial IoT for monitoring energy consumption in the production process

March 16, 2026

The Transition 5.0 decree aims to reduce companies' energy consumption, and the incentives are linked to the energy savings achieved, which must be at least 3% of total consumption or 5% of the consumption of the “target process” of the efficiency intervention. This initiative reflects the crucial importance of reducing energy costs and optimising production processes for Italian manufacturing companies. To achieve these objectives, it is essential to adopt a data- and evidence-based business management strategy. Artificial Intelligence and Industrial IoT emerge as key technologies for achieving these results, providing access to financial incentives aimed at reducing waste and optimising the efficiency of machinery and production processes for greater environmental sustainability.
